Clay is a passionate leader and has been a health executive for the past 20 years and brings more than 25 years of broad management experience. Clay has been recognized as a builder within small and large health organizations, leading multimillion-dollar transformations. With a background in health leadership, strategic information and enterprise-wide quality improvement and risk management, Clay combines direct health executive experience with consultancy in the areas of strategy, governance, organization development/alignment, program/portfolio development and policy/program analysis/evaluation. He has worked for national, provincial and regional health care organisations from both a private and public perspective and has built and managed budgets in excess of $100M. Clay has demonstrated skills in facilitating multi-stakeholder groups with clinical, executive and public members in a collaborative, results oriented approach.
Clay has been a member of more than two dozen national and provincial health care committees across Canada, in the provinces of Ontario, New Brunswick and BC. He has been a National and Provincial award recipient in health for leadership, quality improvement and innovation. He has published more than a dozen articles and has presented at national and provincial conferences across Canada.
Clay has served on the several Boards including the Arts on View Society Board from 2019 to 2023 until he assumed the role of Executive Director, the Governance Committee of the Victoria Therapeutic Riding Association from 2016 to 2018 and the Family Caregivers of BC from 2017 to 2023.
