Monday March 2 Mini-Concert & Open Trad Music Session: Pierre Schryer’s Fiddle Connections Featuring Special Guests Courtney Campbell (piano & fiddle) & Stephanie Cadman (fiddle & stepdance). 6pm-7pm mini-concert, followed by an open trad music session. Beautiful.
Thursday March 12 U-JAM Club Night featuring the UJAM Young All-Stars w. Kim Greenwood!
Club Nights are held monthly to give singers and instrumentalists, of all experience levels, an opportunity to perform with our house band and learn more about a particular artist, composer or genre. Tom has welcomed thousands of  musicians to Hermann’s stage for the 

Tom Vickery Trio & Jazz Jam . This year marks 35 years for this jam. 

People come to see him because he “lifts spirits up”

He is an extraordinary accompanist. 

Knows a lot of ballads

We love you, Tom. Happy 35th Anniversary.

  

NORTH AMERICAN TALENT – ON TOUR – MARCH IS EXCEPTIONAL

Sunday March 1 Tonye Aganaba
Tonye is a singer-songwriter born in London England to a Nigerian father and a Zimbabwean  mother. She moved to Canada in her teens and started a career in music at 17. She has been likened to folks like Lauryn Hill, Ani Difranco and Sia. She is a Much More Music Video Award recipient, social justice advocate and the kind of singer/performer that turns heads wherever she plays.

Thursday March 5 Chance Hayden
Portland-based guitarist, composer, arranger and producer Chance Hayden debuts at Hermann’s Jazz Club with bassist Ross Garlow and drummer Mark Griffith celebrating the release of his latest album, Get Somethin’ with Ropeadope Records.

Saturday March 14 Chris Whitely and Diana Braithwaite

Saturday March 28  John Kastelic and the Black Dog String Quartet
Folk Songs & Brahms  For the first part of the performance, joined by John’s brother Tony Kastelic on viola, they will perform Brahms’ stunning String Quintet No. 2. The 2nd part of the evening will feature the folk songs of John Kastelic (singer/composer) for voice and string quartet. Sunday March 8 John Lee Trio – In the Spirit of Ray Brown
Multi-instrumentalist JOHN LEE presents a concert featuring the spirit and repertoire of the famous Ray Brown Trio.
Monday March 9  Island Big Band
This is a full big band playing a variety of big band era music from Duke Ellington to Count Basie to more modern arrangements.
Wednesday March 11  Kelby MacNayr presents Brand New Sounds featuring Miguelito Valdes
Featuring an All-Star Quintet of five of the West Coast’s top jazz musicians including the great Miguelito Valdes (Afro-Cuban All-Stars) & Roy Styffe (Neil Swainson, Ed Bickert).
Friday March 13  Groove Kitchen Groove Kitchen, one of Victoria’s most popular funk bands, roars back into Hermann’s for another dance-happy Spring Fling show.
Sunday March 15 St. Patrick’s Day Party: Oliver Swain & Ivonne Hernandez One of Canada’s finest, multiple award winner Ivonne Hernandez joins forces with bassist Oliver Swain, champion bagpiper and drummer Jaime Troy and guitarist Charlie Gannon, to  bring the St.Paddy’s party to Hermann’s. Also on the bill, Irish Troubadour Terry Boyle and youth fiddling group Coastline!

Tuesday March 17 It’s St Patrick’s Day! An Irish evening with Schryer, Dobres & friends! Recently welcomed from Thunder Bay, Pierre is one of Canada’s leading traditional fiddlers. JUNO nominee, Canadian Folk Music nominee, and celebrated performer and producer, Pierre has established himself as a gem on the music scene among fans and fellow musicians. Adam Dobres, one of our West Coast gems, is a special talent and one of Schryers new musical accomplices.
Friday March 20 David Vest “A Change Is Gonna Come”
You’ll hear songs by Sam Cooke, the Staple Singers, and other artists who were prominent in the freedom movement. Vest is a five-time winner of Canada’s national Maple Blues Award for Piano Player of the Year and not to be missed!

The West Coast Cuban Orchestra
This Cuban pianist has the ability to play in a multitude of styles each with enthusiasm, skill and finesse, charisma and charm.
Sunday March 22 Unfaithful Servants
Back to the roots! Four great musicians, one microphone. Brilliant folk. This acoustic group performs explosive instrumentals, compelling story-telling and high-powered vocals. Given the popularity of this group, reserve your ticket early.

Monday March 30 Swiftsure Big Band
We’ll clear the dancefloor and dance! Swiftsure performs music of the swing-era (1930s & 40s), as well as more contemporary Latin and jive tunes.
