I am a Toronto-based jazz musician, trombonist and educator. My very first tour as a band leader was 18 years ago and I remember Hermann’s as one of the “must” tour locations in Canada. Since then I have played at Hermann’s as a leader and sideman at least 10 times. The room and people are what makes Hermann’s such an inviting and lovely place to perform. It is my hopes that the Victoria Jazz Society and the people of Victoria will be successful in there fight to save this ICONIC location. It is an anchor for the Victoria music scene as well as the Canadian jazz landscape.
