Hermann’s has been a wonderful and indispensible venue for jazz lovers, and a necessary haven for local, country-wide and international jazz musicians throughout the decades. I’ve been performing there since inception. I have recorded CD projects there, held other CD release concerts there, and have performed with and have gone to hear stellar artists there. It is now the only regular jazz venue in Victoria, and without doubt has the best grand piano of any performance club in town. Audiences are without exception there to listen and appreciate, and my most enjoyable and meaningful gigs have been at Hermann’s.
For the sake of audiences and performers, I applaud the most worthwhile efforts of the Society to preserve this very important facet of Victorian and Canadian culture and vow to participate and contribute in any way I can.
