Unfortunately, we live in a time where a number of influences make it more and more difficult for live music to not just survive but thrive in local clubs and venues. This is unfortunate for several reasons….live music brings people, a wide variety of people, together and interacting….that is a good thing especially in today’s political and social climate of separateness and conflict. Music is healing and inspires creativity in many ways. To lose another live music venue, especially one as integral as Herman’s is to this city’s cultural life with it’s single-minded devotion to live music and the musicians that provide it, would be truly tragic and would be another domino in the sad chain that ultimately may signal the end of any sort of vital, living live music scene in this city.
