I am an ethnomusicologist, musician, author, and professor of music at Concordia University in Montreal. Victoria is my home town, and though I studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, at York University in Toronto (for a master’s), and at Concordia (for a Ph.D), I obtained my Bachelor of Music at UVIC. In those years, I gigged extensively in Victoria and up Island, and I have maintained an interest in the Victoria music scene. I come home to visit family and friends two or three times a year. Almost every visit back to Victoria includes going to Hermann’s for a concert. With my parents I attended many of the Sunday afternoon dixieland shows, and with my musician friends I have seen several of the evening concerts as well. Hermann’s is worthy of all the efforts to maintain it! All the best,
Craig Morrison
