Hermann’s Jazz Club is one of the best known jazz clubs in Canada and no doubt the oldest music nightclub in this city. It occupies a unique place in this city’s cultural fabric, hosting performances by musical heavyweights (Wynton Marsalis, Kenny Wheeler) and talented beginners alike. It’s a welcoming place for veteran jazz fans, neophytes developing an interest in the art of jazz and everyone in between. Efforts to keep the club going must be supported — when such clubs shut down, they rarely start up again.
